Family photo shoot in the rain. They were all such good sports with the rain :O) It of course stopped raining when we decided to call it quits.

Yesterday was my husbands birthday, but I was busy making a short film all day. Today we got a special treat. My Mom offered to watch the kids so we could go do something. We didn't see any movies that sounded good and didn't really want to be stuck inside on such a beautiful day. We went to lunch and then got to go for an amazing walk/hike. It was nice to get out in the fresh air.

This is what could happen when you have a photographer follow you. My husband and I were following my Brother and his two friends to the California Independent Film Festival 2011 Iron Filmmaker Competition. I of course was goofing off with my camera. I had to wait until we stopped at a light. On the freeway the truck was sooo bouncy that I couldn't keep the focus on the side mirror.

I was a little bummed. I brought my camera with me to my Daughters apt. today. Last week we were in the casting room with lots of cool tools. I was hoping to get a picture of a fun gadget.......No such luck. So we got placed in a little room with a sliding frosted glass door. So here is my reflection. I really did look for something fun...LOL. There was no drawer unopened.

This was taken while using the blower to do yard work. This was my attempt at making it more fun....LOL I got stuck home with a sick kid again. The backyard has been driving me nuts. I started blowing leaves and saw this. I grabbed my camera and put it on an upside down pot and set the timer.

The eye of one of the kids at work :O) I just love this little girl's eyes. They are so beautiful even in color. I took a picture of her while she was playing, but ended up with this b&w image of one eye. It's amazing the detail that can be caught from across the room.

This might not be very exciting to you, but it's the story behind it that makes it great. This once was a pretty tree. It lived in my house until my Daughter decided that she wanted to help me pull a dead leaf off of the tree. She pulled so hard that she pulled the entire top of the tree off. From that day on it has been known as the stick plant. Tomorrow our "Stick Plant" will make it's way to who knows where in the the Green waste truck.

A flower lit by a flash light. After taking the picture of myself on the motorcycle, I wanted to play with the flash light a little more. I took this in my front yard. It was interesting to take a picture when the flower was closed up for the night.

Keeping you all in suspense. Hehe. This was a quick shot from the short film I was working on today. It was great to see my brother so nervous :O)

This is what you get when you have a motorcycle, a flashlight, a camera and ME :O) Yep, I'm a goofball. I walked around the garage looking at just about everything. I took a couple pictures of bolts and such.......then my eye caught the mirror.

This was my table at the Fashion show tonight. Had a great time. My first table display. I wasn't completely satisfied with the setup, but you live and learn.

I felt it was fitting to take a picture of the moon, since it's a full moon tonight :O) I was amazed when I opened this image up on my computer. There is so much detail. I had to sit and stare at it for a bit.

Not sure this is a good match up. Is it still considered playing "chicken" when you are a bird?

I wish I could have stayed here all night. Strangely enough this was soooo peaceful. Today was one of those days with my kids. Well not really kids, just my son. My daughter was very helpful today.

I took my daughter to an indoor sports birthday party. This was an imprint left from a soccer ball on the glass. My first question is....what was on that ball to leave a mark like that? My second question is.....how hard was that ball kicked to leave such a perfect imprint?

My 3 1/2 year old learning to ride a bike :O) So proud......he still needs a little more practice. There were a few mishaps. He kept looking back at his Dad and turning the handle bars very sharp.........and face first into the ground he went....oops!!! So we are back to training wheels for a little while longer.

once again.......around my house......LOL. It's sort of neat to see what a different angle can do to an image. These two pictures were taken at very different times of the day. I started with the picture on the right and made it a challenge on Facebook to see if anyone could guess what it was. The image on the left was taken the next morning to show what the image was.

Looking back on all of these pictures makes me realize I need to get away from my house more often. This was taken in my backyard....LOL. This challenge is getting more difficult. I'm starting to feel like a very boring person.

Just another day at work.Trying to balance life :O) This was taken while editing pictures of my beautiful sister. She is a senior this year. Can't believe how fast she has grown up.

growths on a rock. Not much more to say about this one. I just was walking by and thought, "well that might be interesting"

It's been pretty cold lately. Well for California that is. Needless to say, my kids haven't been outside much. This was the sad sight of lonely toys left waiting to be played with..........I think I have watched too much "Toy Story" LOL.

I quickly snapped this picture with my phone while trying to turn a corner. I was excited to see the sun this morning :O) Here was another example of seeing at the perfect time. By the time I got to work (3min. later) it was completely hidden.

Day 5

Today I went to take down a lighted Christmas bulb wreath that is hanging in my front window. First I whacked my elbow on the corner of a desk......said a few choice words, LOL. As I turned to take this down the sun shining over the neighbors house caught the bulbs perfectly. What I have noticed in the last two days is how you really have to be in the right place at the right time to see some things. 10 minutes after taking the picture of the spiderweb it was destroyed by the wind. Today, 5 minutes passed and the sun had moved enough to not hit my window anymore. I guess it goes to show you that when you are to busy living, life can pass you by.

Day 4

I saw this spider web while raking leaves today. You could only see it from the right angle. Spider webs just amaze me. They are So detailed and intricate. This perticular one was attached to a humming bird feeder and the roof. And now I am sitting on my computer typing this instead of picking up leaves.....LOL. It's amazing how that happens.

My little tool belt wearing boy.......What do I say? He interrupted dance class to tell his sister that he loved her. He sure is something else......LOL. You all will see lots of him over the next year :O)

Today's image was taken to capture that quiet sort of sadness that follows after the holiday decorations are turned off and ready to be taken down. From about October trough January it seems like there are constantly decorations. In January you take them all down and the house has a sort of empty feeling. It's nice because it feels less cluttered, but sad that all the hard work has to be undone.

I was trying to figure out what my picture for today was going to be. We weren't really doing much, just laundry and cleaning. Oh and a rat burial, but I didn't want to photograph that. .....So for some reason these leave prints on the sidewalk had caught my attention.
